It seems that all new years start with a few new years resolutions and as I read quite a few of the blogs a lot of people are highlighting what they are going to do in this next twelve months. I am an ordinary sort of bloke and I have had my share of resolutions mad and lost before the dawn of the 2nd January, which is strange seeing as I am so passionate about the future.
I am finding more and more the disappointment of many people in my age category who are looking for 'retirement' whatever that means and after a few years looking for the end. Anthony Robbins tells the story of two 70 year old women; one having lived a good life started getting her affairs in order for what was the last stage of her life here, while the other said "Now what can I do?" and decided to take of mountain climbing. At the ripe old age of 90 something was still climbing mountains.
It was the Village People who had a hit in 1979 that sang about being ready for the eighties, glad to be alive, etc etc and I want that experience all the time.
I want to be the second lady, not necessarily climbing mountains, but always looking for what is next with excitement, enthusiasm, passion and wonder and awe. If there is anyone out there who is of the same opinion let me know so that I know I am not on my own.
Cheers
